“Bichet” is the name that in Ibiza we traditionally and familiarly give to the common chilli peppers. For a long time they have been the most common hot bell pepper in the kitchens of the island. Little by little, however, other “bichets” have been introduced in our houses and nowadays it is easy to find in the markets a great variety of chillis and guindillas.
What is spicy oil?
Fluxà’s spicy oil with chillis, is a condiment that is made from virgin olive oil. The oil is infused with five types of chilli that we personally grow on our farm. When it is already cold, we add the peppercorns and fresh chilli that remain in the bottle.
The degree of spiciness of our oil is designed to accentuate the flavor of the ingredients of the prepared dish. It is ideal to accompany any pasta dish, to spice up a pizza, an oriental fusion recipe or any dish to which we want to give this spicy and exciting touch.
How do we make Fluxà spicy oil?
At our estate, we cultivate a carefully selected variety of spicy peppers with which we create two of our most popular recipes: Chilli Sweet and Spicy Oil seasoning.
For the preparation of Fluxà Ibiza spicy oil, we infuse five different types of our chili peppers. However, that’s not the only secret to achieving the balanced flavor of our spicy oil.
The base, virgin olive oil made from arbequina olives, is crucial to achieving the authentic and perfectly balanced flavor of this product.
Two small chili peppers and a few peppercorns adorn a product that is fully finished in its flavor and texture at the time of bottling.
